Elon's LED Poi

Once the fire was done, Elon moved onto LED Poi. Here are some of my favorite pics I shot of that. Again I love night long exposer photography. More in the web gallery.

One interesting thing in these pics is how damn bright it is in a city and night. Some of these look like underexposed daytime pics. Isn't light pollution awesome?

Friday night I shot some pics of Elon spinning his fire poi on the roof of their apt building. It was very interesting and fun. I love night photography and fire is always a great night subject. Here is a link to more pics of this in my web gallery.

Bad Idea Bears

Bad Idea Bears

So, when you listen to the show a gillian times on CD, there isn't much new material, but man the Bad Idea Bears in Avenue Q are really fun. Probably the best part of the show for me, since I was so familiar with all the song already.

Overall I liked the show. I think I liked Wicked more. It was always an argument with Don back in 2003 when both shows started as too which one was better. At the time we only had the CDs, so it was only based on the music for me. I liked Ave Q more. Now that I have seen both shows, I got to say, Wicked is amazing. Ave Q is good, but Wicked is better.

Side note: Joey wouldn't give me an answer to the "Which is better?" question. He said he didn't have to vote for Best Musical 2003 Tony, so he didn't have to pick.

See them both, and you decide. Next up is The Color Purple, not really excited about this one, but I'm thinking we will go anyway. The great thing about shows at the Ahmanson is they are all top notch.

Bad Idea Bears Rock

1/2 way and I need to not listen to the soundtrack of a show 50 times
before I see it. At least it has been a couple of months, but I can
still sing along with every word of every song.

Jack Head Pumpkins

Here are a couple of different Jack heads they had at Disneyland carved into white pumpkins. Getting in the mood for Halloween. Just a month away until our party. It's gonna be good.

Heroes and Chuck Good, Journeyman not so much.

Just finished watching the season premiers on NBC. Loved all the intrigue on Heroes. Chuck looks very promising. What's with all the pictures of pie, makes me hungry.

Joey things Journeyman is more like a miniseries. It will be interesting to see how long they can stretch this concept. It reminds me of Quantum Leap, only he gets to go home during the episode.

Plus, we got high def. cable this season, it's extra crispy on our giant screen.

Can't wait for Bionic Women on Wednesday and of course the Office and 30 Rock on Thurs. It's starting off a great week.

Disneyland Tea Cups Spinning

Hidden Mickey Pumkin on Main Street USA

Now thru Halloween Disneyland had HalloweenTime decorations, including this "Hidden" Mickey on Main Street. I saw it on the way out of the park today.

Weather Today

After lunch I took this interesting picture with my iPhone. The weather was starting to clear. Over the next hour it got sunnier and the darkness moved East.

Palermo Ristorante Italiano

The best Pizza in Los Angeles is what your looking at in that photo. Pizzarosa from Palermo in Los Felix (a small area of LA), cheese, tomato and garlic.

We have been going here for about 5 years now, and man it just never gets old and the food is awesome every time. Did I mention, mmmm Garlic!

And they are very reasonable priced. Especially if you go with the Fishers, then everything is usually like 1/2 price :-)

New Andrew Christian TJ Wilks Video

Here is a new video I just finished on Friday at work. The video was shot 3 months ago by Joe during a photo shoot. I have been so busy at work, that I just now finished working on this first part.

I tried some new stuff with the editing to hopefully make it more interesting to watch.

The model used is TJ Wilks famous from the TV Show The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency on Oxygen.

What the?

What the hell is that thing? How crazy looking. I guess if you need to practice on a lady down below and don't happen to have a real lady, you get one of these.

Good for all kinds of things apparently. Baby insert, or vaginal. Very helpful.

I love how it mostly looks like a man with a wig, but with breast attachments, totally becomes a lady.

Plus, check out the site, there is a rat model also.

Old Andrew Christian Building Downtown LA

As you may know, I work at Andrew Christian. These are pics from 2001 when the company was located on 23rd and Olive downtown LA. Very loverly street/area. Outside we had an island in the street (we called it the Homeless Disneyland). Many a day there would be 10+ gathered and sitting on the grass just across from our building.

The front door usually smelled like urine, no matter it was cleaned off our not, it would get re-applied. Tons of trash all over and usually someone going through the dumpster out front.

Overall a great place to work (once inside), just not the best neighborhood. Very happy we are now in North Hollywood.

Andrew Christian Pirate Coin Necklace

About 16 months ago I designed this pirate coin necklace as an idea for a pin or some kind of design for use at Andrew Christian, were I work. It was around the beginning of Pirate Mania with POTC 2 being released and everyone was going crazy for pirates.

They seemed to like the design, but nothing happened with it for about 6 months. Then we decided to get a sample made as a necklace. Great, looks fine only it was in gold and way to big to be a necklace. So then they re-sampled it in silver and that was good. We placed the order and a month later we got pirate coins, actual coins, even though all the samples had been necklaces, because it was named "pirate coin" we got f-ing coins.

That company was dumped and we moved to a cheaper direct from China maker, starting the sample process over again. Finally 1 1/2 years after the design was first put to paper, here it is, finally a necklace and finally ready to sell and use as promo items for the company.

Earl of Sandwich

One of the best places to eat at Walt Disney World is the Earl of Sandwich. They have been working on franchising the idea and a year ago one opened in Valencia which is about 25 mins from were we live. We had to go get some sandwiches tonight, mmm the craving. Totally awesome and totally worth a short drive up the 5.

Check them out next time you happen to be in Valencia (Magic Mountain Area) or driving by. Love the Original and the Beef n' Bleu both rock.

Ocean Drive

Digging back in the iPhoto archive today, here are some pics of Joey and I from a drive we did over the mountains behind Malibu April 2005.

Random road trips are one of my favorite things to do. Jump in the car and start driving. No destination or plan, except to find and explore somewhere new. It's a great way to get acquainted with a new area.

We started this drive in NoHo, then the 101 to Calabasas and the over the Mountain to Malibu. There are some crazy houses on the side of the mountain up there, just waiting for an earthquake to slide off into the ocean.
